Fuel Filter replacement
Written by daviddockstader on 4/24/2010 at 07:20 pm

Did you cut open a Honda filter? I thought they all were just a folded up piece
of paper pretty much like the material in a stock air filter. A lot of cars
(before they all went to fuel injection) and motorcycles come with no filter at
all, just a metal screen to take out the big stuff. Mostly I think with a carb
you just need to take out stuff that could clog the jets. Fuel injectors require
better filtering and diesel injectors get monster filters as well as water
separators.

I'm really surprised at the response that said a new filter made a difference at
idle. I've had filters so clogged that I couldn't go over 45, but at lower
speeds the motor ran fine and I sure didn't notice anything at idle.
