Fuel Filter replacement
Written by swiftly1... on 4/24/2010 at 09:09 pm

I think you will find that almost any part for any year PC will fit any
other year. There are some exceptions between the 97-98 and the rest due to
design changes. Also some minor differences between 49 state and CA models.
Quite frequently, when you order an earlier model part, you will get the
later replacement. The only problem I found between my '89 CA model and the
rest was when I ordered a front wheel caliper cover. Had to get a screw and
fitting from a '90 and up. I have yet to get a "whoops that won't work".

To those that may be interested, while replacing my battery I decided that while I had the battery disconnected, it would be a good time to replace the fuel filter. For those that have done it before, you know why one procrastinates in changi

First, are you absolutely sure it's clogged? Failure of the fuel pump and/or filter are very rare on the PC. Second, there is no easy way due to cramped quarters. Dick

I did my 90 last summer right after I bought it as it was leaking. Stopped at a Honda dealer in Mobridge, SD. He popped the trunk and lifted the pump off with its strap off the flat verticle rod and the filter kinda comes along with it. He d

I followed this thread with interest. On my recent trip I had to use my "reserve bottle" in the trunk, and noticed that there were a bunch of plastic chips in the bottom when I'd poured it all out. I'm sure some went into the gas ta

Which filter did you use? The Hondaline part or a generic Goldwing filter? I had a similar performance boost last week when I properly inflated my tires. Just a couple PSI or a fuel filter can make a big difference. Also, FWIW, I wou

Interesting question! I found a GW filter for 4 bucks (generic) but when I went to replace it, it didn't fit! The hose was too big for the openings on the ends of the filter. Ran over to the closest dealer & picked up a Hondaline filter (

DON'T EVER CRIMP THE FUEL LINE!!!!!!! before you start find a piece of a wooden dowel rod or something else you can use as a plug so many times i have crimped the line and just that extra pressure on the line cracks it or distorts it and now

The factory service manual instructs you to crimp the fuel line on the engine side of the fuel filter when you change it. I can tell you from my own sad experience that if you don't crimp the fuel line, you will get a nasty bath from the gas

According to Service Honda, Tube C (the fuel line between the pump and the filter) is discontinued for 1989 and 1990 PC's. Looks like it's still available for 1998 PC's. They are different part numbers. Any idea if they're cross-compatible? I

Did you cut open a Honda filter? I thought they all were just a folded up piece of paper pretty much like the material in a stock air filter. A lot of cars (before they all went to fuel injection) and motorcycles come with no filter at all, j
