Hi KAB,
It sounds like you are going to have a fabulous Thursday this week. As for the
trunk, it sounds like the hydraulic arm is worn out and I believe you can get a
new one at Pep Boy's, etc. It is the same type of arm that is used on the SUVs
and I'm sure others will give you more info here, luckily mine is still
functioning. I look forward to photos of your new PC and enjoy it.
Here is a photo of my niece on my 89 PC-

PCers: Hello again. While I am not quite yet OFFICIALLY one of you, I?m expecting to be next Thursday. And I owe it to all the advice you gave me. Let me begin by saying I did NOT buy the white 1989 from the used car/

Karen - The "Trunk Lift" can be bought at Pep Boys. Look at the lifts for back windows (a "hanging" rack)somewhere in the store. The item number is GG315011. I got mine here in Florida (Hollywood) and was about $17.

Karen, The trunk strut can be replaced for about $15 with one from McMaster-Carr. This is a link to some info in the files section:

I am not sure what I am doing wrong... But for the life of me I cannot get to most of the links that are posted on this site. I "almost always" get 'Document not found' when I click on a link (the one below is a perfect example)
