I'm one of you now!

Welcome to our world Karen. I might have an idea for crash protection, first -
just don't. Failing that you can buy a roll of chrome body side molding at any
parts store that sticks on with 3M tape. It gives you something between your
bike and the pavement if you are slow or stopped and drop it. I have never seen
any aftermarket crash bars like for other types of bikes. If you mess up your
molding, you can just remove the scraped up stuff and stick on another. I would
not use a tank bag. The finish will scratch and you can polish it out with
Meguiars Plastic polish to a really nice shine, but I wouldn't do that on a
regular basis. As for the windshield, I absolutely love my Laminar Lip. It will
deflect the wind from your eyes and over your head. Mine actually made my 94
much smoother to ride in a high wind. It's great. You can check them out at
Laminarlip.com. The Mick O Pegs are really nice too, but like you, I am not made
of money. I have considered engineering some thing like them on my own. They
don't appear to be that difficult to make. I'm really glad you found a PC 800
that you like.
