Speedo fail

Yes, probably a good idea to check it out at front tire replacement. I'm not
sure if you can get it off without removing any of the front plastics. Probably,
but for ease I removed the windshield and the vent bits. That gave me direct
access to the back of the instrument cluster.
I ordered from Service Honda, and it came within the week. Just replacing the
cable, if you can reach up from under the front fairing, could be done in
minutes. Like I mentioned, I took off the windshield and the vent in front. So
that took some time. Also the gear required wheel removal, which required
fender/wheel cover removal.
