Hi Karen,

I spotted something in the things you were saying:

Sounds to me like you need to change the antifreeze. It's supposed to
be done every 2 years or 24,000 miles. I'm betting yours is overdue and
that, once changed, your temperature gauge won't go up that far even in
that much heat. In 120 degree temps (Needles, CA - I have a friend I
visit there occasionally), mine doesn't go past the 3/4 point unless I'm
due to change the antifreeze.

Oh, and be sure the antifreeze is silicate-free. I use the Honda
automotive premix stuff. Fits the bill and works like a champ.
