thermostat replacement question = part number requested
Written by literidr on 6/11/2010 at 02:09 am

Hey Jerry,

I don't know of an automotive replacement for the thermostat. However, it's
normal for your gauge to read low when it's cold and up to around half way when
its hot or you're in heavy traffic. Your thermostat opens at the point on the
gauge where the broken white line begins again. The fan doesn't kick in to
assist cooling until the temperature gets to about the halfway mark on your
gauge. Your bike isn't "overheating" until it reaches the upper end of the
gauge. If your bike is operating between where the thermostat opens and where
the fan comes on, then it's operating normally.

Hope this helps,
