Squeal in rear wheel, advice needed
Written by cmcvean on 6/25/2010 at 02:46 pm

I'll check the diff oil level today sometime, but I did ride it again last night
and the noise was not evident, perhaps just a bit of debris got in the hub.
Thanks for all your help gents.
Bike only has about 41,000 km so not high mileage at all.

the differential oil level? When was the last time the rear splines were
greased? Unless you bike is real high mileage I can't imagine what the noise
could be, the rear ends are pretty bullet proof.

When I left I made a couple loops around lot and no noise. Hitting highway still
nothing but at about 100 km.hr I did notice the squeal returned. As I slowed it
would quit but return as I accelerated up past 100. Not a real loud noise but I
could hear it.

a severe problem in there. Brakes seem to work just fine and bike has only
about 42,000 km on her.
