I used header wrap on the front pipe for about a year without any problems,
although it did emit a strange smell when wet. The following winter I had most
of the plastic off to install an Audiovox cruise control so had the pipes (2
headpipes & 1 connector) ceramic coated.

The header wrap actually worked better in regards to reducing heat coming out of
the right vent on hot days.
