Throttle locks ?

Hi guys, I'm kinda new around here and mostly a lurker. I do have a stupid
problem and really need some help... so here goes.

I have an '89 and bought a vista cruise throttle lock like I've done for all my
past motorcycles. I can't get the freakin thing onto the PC though. I understand
about either cutting a slot or drilling a hole to mount it, that isn't the
problem. It seems to be too tight. I guess I have the one for 7/8 bars but they
don't have one for 1" bars except the one with the bar across the housing. With
the single one I have, the throttle is too tight, it doesn't just release and
snap back and you can't even twist the throttle normally. I have enough room
between the housing and grip. I hope I made some sense.

This is so stupid!

Any help is much appreciated.
