Spark Plug Socket Extension tool

Jim,
Get the proper Honda plug wrench. You stand a chance of cracking the plug insert
tube with other sockets which will cost much more to fix.
The part numbers are: 89216-MR5-870 or 89216-MR5-830 or 89216-MY1-000.
Check for the part in the number order I listed them, some are no longer
available. The first one lists at $18.02 and the other two list at $14.73.
Fred

I cannot seem to locate a place that sells a very long spark plug socket. The plugs on my PC are very long. Any ideas on where to get one, or any other tips? Thanks.

Checked the tool kit, does not appear to be in there. There is a "long" socket, but appears to be too small for the plugs. Looks like I need an 18mm socket for the plugs?? This part costs $18 at bikebandit. --- In

Jim, be sure to get a thinwall socket, a standard socket with crack the "tube" leading down to the plug. Lots of leaking oil will ensue.... --- In

Hey Jim, The only socket in your tool kit has a 10mm allen type drive on it. It may look small, but it will fit your spark plugs and is the best tool to do the job. Good luck, John Handford,

Ok, I checked the tool kit, the socket with allen wrench end is definitely NOT in there. I understand about breaking the tube wall, so I will try to hunt down a replacement wrench. My gut feeling is that the last mechanic might have found

I stopped by the powersports dealer and ordered the missing socket. Cost me $17. When I go back, will get a fuel filter too. Mine looks original. Kind of dark in there. I siphoned the old gas out of the tank this evening. I thought I

Ironhorse?. In Honda-speak, the middle three letters refer to the specific model. In this case, MR5 is the PC800 (not sure what MY1 is). The last few numbers indicate the version number. So 870 superseded 830. So it was either slightly im

Thanks! Yes, after I'd posted this, I stumbled across a video online that showed the process of replacing the plugs, & I could see that the official tool was actually articulated [which doesn't display *at all* in the woeful parts
