Trunk strut replacement from Autozone

The gas shock is almost horizontal when the trunk is closed so the force
required would be very, very high and probably destroy the shock mounts.
The small springs that some people put in to pop the trunk increase
the load on the trunk latches and trunk release cable which can break. I push
down slightly as I pull the latch to reduce the load on the parts.
