De-restricted CDI

Does anybody out there know anything about these so-called de-restricted CDI's
that are available after market? Do they work?

Supposed to improved performance...better throttle response, eliminate rev/speed
limiter. Sounds too good to be true.

I'm probably not the only PC rider out there who wouldn't mind a bit more snap
from his mount. Such a great handling bike, but a bit more acceleration would
be nice.

I'd like to hear from others of like mind on the subject of improving the PC's
performance by any method, not just Magic CDI's.
