25000 miles later on the VT1100 experiment

Jerry - Yeah, the hitch in the VT1100 conversion is you gotta find a rear end,
and only the rear from '87 to '92 (As I recall, at least) will fit. I found mine
on Ebay after searching for 3 months, and got it for $85. I had my mechanic
install it and it took a little over an hour for him to complete it. Total cost
was around $150.

Ideal time to do this, of course, is during a rear tire change. But I wasn't so
smart.

Suppose you could order it directly, but you are looking at $600+. Or you could
just order the gears only and disassemble your rear to put them in, I think
that's around half of that plus a lot of labor.
