I have run out of gas. After pushing her into the station I put in 4.24
gallons, which was as much as I could get in. I wonder if I had started it the
float bowls would have filled and let in a wee bit more.

I thought they only held 4.2!? Talk about running on fumes! Thought I could go another 10 miles but she coughed while making a turn so I turned in to the station and filled up. Sure glad I did! I've put off doing the "gas gauge fix&qu

So, we have all now learned that the 4.2 gal capacity is useable. Has anyone ever run out of fuel? Jerry --- In ipc

Has anyone ever run out of fuel? ........................ Not yet but I've been thinking of doing a purpose run. Restart the trip meter when it gets to the edge of the red. Run at a steady 60 mph and see when it runs out. Carrying a gas

Look down inside the gas filler neck, and you should see a curved wire "doohickey" - that's the designated fill level for the tank. But everybody I know fills the tank up into the filler neck, cramming extra tenths of gallons into t

I sure do when traveling! Every extra drop means less distance I might have to push the bike to find gas. This year I've had three 200 mile rides before needing to fill up, but I just watch the gas gauge to be certain when I need to stop. I f

I have only owned my PC for 1500 miles so far. Usually I have filled up when the gauge hit the red mark at which time the tank took about 3 gallons to fill it. Today I was out dual sport riding tiny back roads and state truck trails (actually

Terry, The thing about the PC is that there is no reserve switch over when the last of the gas is used. So, when you're out, you're out. Its walking time. You have been warned. Jerry --- In

In complete agreement with much that has already been written here, I always take an extra minute or so at the gas pump, making sure that the gas tank of whichever bike (or car) I'm riding/driving has been filled to the max, in spite of the o

You know, I've skipped this thread even though it's been running a while, but while yes, we should expect a gas gauge to work as advertised, such is not usually the case in the 2-wheeled world. In fact, I don't think anybody trusts the gauge

I turst my gauge on this and my previous PC800. This is the first bike I ever had with a gauge and I think it's great. I have found both bikes to have consistently accurate gauges and each time the needle is in a specific location I always fi

Mine doesn't fluctuate at all. It's very consistent but way off. I thought mine was pretty typical based on what I've read here. ________________________________ From: Tim Davies <

Like Tim, I have found the needle to be precise, but not accurate. Having NOT done the gauge correction procedure, I know that on my bike that when the end of the needle gets in the bend of the gas pump hose I am on fumes. ALWAYS. So the gage

You are absolutely right about complaining, still there is no big fuzz about it. I reckon Honda did not want the motorbike to stop in deep long, often steep, 360 degree bends on motorways where traffic drives at the left side of the road. You
