Silicate free antifreeze: A necessity for long water pump life
Written by mac.hancock57 on 10/2/2010 at 06:22 pm

I found the following information about mixing antifreeze with different
colors,? take it for what it is worth.? I do not have personal experience with
any problems.? Thought it might be worth considering!?

It seems to me that I read awhile back that you should not mix Dex Cool
antifreeze with non Dex Cool antifreeze.? I will do some research and see if I
can find the information.? It even said that is was not enough to just flush the

system with water.? It seems that using Dex Cool in a system that has had
another type antifreeze the Dex Cool changes to jelly like.? Maybe someone who
knows more than I will chime in soon.
Ride Safe!!!!?? Mac H.

Yes, Skye, SILICATES ARE BAD!!

If you're cheap like PC**** and me ;-)? you'll like Dex Cool --
http://www.havoline.com/products/na/antifreeze.html.? It is silicate-free, too.?

You can use it in your autos, trucks, and cycles!

But, as you said, $10, buying it from Honda, is cheap insurance plus there is no

mixing necessary.

YMMV,
VA Dan
