Fails to start or turn over

Hi,

My PC 800 failed to start after stopping at a gas station today. The strange
thing is that as soon as I hit the starter switch everything turned off. No
lights, nothing. I took the key out and put it back in and turned it but nothing
came back on. After pulling the fuses in the front and inspecting them the
lights came back on when I tried to turn it on. But everything died when I tried
to start it again. After turning the key to the off position and back on the
lights came back, but not the 3rd time. After pulling the fuses again (this time
I pulled the main 30amp fuse) the lights came back on when I turned the key. At
this point I just wanted to get home so I push started it in 2nd gear and it
started right up. Basically whenever I hit the starter switch everything stops
working and the starter doesn't crank.

Any ideas? The battery is only a few months old. The bike was wrecked several
months ago but I fixed it and have been riding it the last few months. The only
possible electrical problem I am aware of is that the blinkers blink quickly.
(I'm not sure if it is too fast or not.)
