gel battery

The YUASA battery that came with my 94 PC lasted 9 years and 9 months.

It still worked great, but the case was swelling so I replaced it with a $55
gel battery.

That battery lasted less than 2 years.

I purchased a new YUASA battery from the Honda dealer in Monterey while on a
Y2K ride, and it was only $85 IIRC.

Stay with the YUASA if you are going to keep your bike more than a year.

Subject: PC800: gel battery



I know there have been a few post lately about batteries. My question is can
we use a gel type battery? Is it worth the money? Will it do any harm? I can
get one for under $75.

I have a AGM from Walmart now. I purchased it two or three years ago and I
think it is about time for a new one. When I try to crank the bike it is a
little slow. Not sure if this could be the starter or not. I have a volt
meter on the bike and it is showing 12.3 volts with just the switch on and
the engine off so I think that is Ok. I have done the wiring fix and that
has helped stablize the voltage.

So, if it is the battery, what is the best battery for the price?
