Doing the hotwire mod and have a question

Mark,

Try holding a bright penlight against the connector. You ought to be able to
see where the tab is lurking.

Have a look at the top right diagram on this drawing:

You can see a small tab projecting down from the contact that locks it into the
body of the connector. IIRC, it is easiest to release the contacts on the R/R
connector by going in through the face of the connector with a very small flat
screwdriver and prying the tab up just enough to allow the contact to slip out.
You may need to bend the tab back down to ensure that it engages properly when
reassembled.
