Can't find a clutch push rod seal
Written by aayjayhod3 on 1/2/2011 at 12:16 am

Hey Doug,

This is the best view of this oil
seal....http://www.directcon.net/lcshepp/PC800SMPage9-4.html

You can see the clutch push rod sticking out of the crank case cover just to the
right of the insulator part no. 7. That seal labeled No. 11 goes into the body
of the slave cylinder itself. That one too is damaged and I already have it on
order.

Here's another view of that seal. It's on the crank case cover in between the
three retainer bolts for the clutch slave cylinder
assembly.....http://www.directcon.net/lcshepp/PC800SMPage15-8.html

I did locate a micro fishe set of diagrams online. But they too neglect to list
that seal.

numbers are from the Left Crankcase Cover microfiche.

get my charging system back on line. The stator change worked thanks to someone
who mentioned Ricks Motorsport Electric. However, after swapping the stator out
I noticed that I had a lot of oil leaking from the clutch slave cylinder. When
I removed the slave cylinder to investigate I found that the large oil seal in
the left crankcase cover was damaged.

from. It may be that in removing and replacing the cover I may have opened up a
damaged seal a little more.

can see it detailed but not listed. And, I can't find this seal anywhere.

that measures about 3/16" dia. It's an easy press fit from the inside of the
crankcase cover.
