Can't find a clutch push rod seal
Written by goldwingman40 on 1/2/2011 at 04:21 pm

AJ,
If you had looked at Lelands on line parts manual,

http://www.directcon.net/lcshepp/PC800PartsList.html

you would have found the part number very easy. The
servive manual does not give you the numbers.
Fred

was quite a story. Obviously someone had used a gasket sealant/adhesive which
required the use of a car jack! He's lucky he didn't do any damage. All I had
to do was tap the case lightly with a hammer and it just sorta popped loose. The
old gasket came off in pieces, however, and did take quite a while to totally
remove everything.

that the spring tensioner that's wound into the seal disintigrated in my own
seal. It was in a couple of pieces and I had unknowingly pushed a big coil of
it all the way back into the casing once when I was investigating. Luckily it
came back out when I removed the push rod.

Can't find it through searching at the moment though...

ServiceHonda a call or emailing Bruce (the poster of message 63714) to see if
that is the right part.

just to the right of the insulator part no. 7. That seal labeled No. 11 goes
into the body of the slave cylinder itself. That one too is damaged and I
already have it on order.

to someone who mentioned Ricks Motorsport Electric. However, after swapping the
stator out I noticed that I had a lot of oil leaking from the clutch slave
cylinder. When I removed the slave cylinder to investigate I found that the
large oil seal in the left crankcase cover was damaged.
