Can't find a clutch push rod seal
Written by aayjayhod3 on 1/2/2011 at 06:46 pm

Yeah! Obscure is right! From this diagram it would appear that the oil seal
was more a part of the crankcase and not the cover.

I actually did come across that page and gave it a once over. But, it made more
sense to me to concentrate on the actual crank case cover instead.

Again, thanks for finding this. I'm off to put it on order.

A.J.

That was quite a story. Obviously someone had used a gasket sealant/adhesive
which required the use of a car jack! He's lucky he didn't do any damage. All I
had to do was tap the case lightly with a hammer and it just sorta popped loose.
The old gasket came off in pieces, however, and did take quite a while to
totally remove everything.

noticed that the spring tensioner that's wound into the seal disintigrated in my
own seal. It was in a couple of pieces and I had unknowingly pushed a big coil
of it all the way back into the casing once when I was investigating. Luckily
it came back out when I removed the push rod.

ServiceHonda a call or emailing Bruce (the poster of message 63714) to see if
that is the right part.

into the body of the slave cylinder itself. That one too is damaged and I
already have it on order.

in order to get my charging system back on line. The stator change worked
thanks to someone who mentioned Ricks Motorsport Electric. However, after
swapping the stator out I noticed that I had a lot of oil leaking from the
clutch slave cylinder. When I removed the slave cylinder to investigate I found
that the large oil seal in the left crankcase cover was damaged.
