Reid Rack Replacement Getting Close
Leland, Thanks & it looks great -- but, as a pack rat, too small for "my use". However if a larger aluminum rack that attaches to the grabrails (eliminate the back rest) were available @ a "reasonable" cost I'd be int...

Reid Rack Replacement Getting Close
Leland I take it that this is the rack which bolts to the Honda Backrest. Correct? Is there another rack in the works which is attached via the grabrails? Tim Bambrick Monkton, Md --

Reid Rack Replacement Getting Close
Hi Coasters, I just put three photos of the prototype of the Reid Rack replacement that David Landsberger's folks have developed in the photos section at Yahoo. It's under Accessories, New Rack. Anyone think they might want one? :-...

Racks
The first sample of the steel luggage rack that mounts like the Reid Rack should be ready this week. Within a few weeks I hope to have a new and improved rack that will mount like the backrest and will accomodate the backrest and differen...

Re: PC800: Digest Number 2681
I certainly hope you took none of that ribbing personally. I remember years ago. I owned a 175CC Kawasaki dirt bike, I was 19Y/O (please don't ask how long ago). I really wanted a street bike and my neighbor said to take his Sportster for a r...

Re: PC800: Digest Number 2681
I'm the one with the sportster. It would appear that I've provided some comic relief for some and I suppose it's understandable. After all we Harley folks have had our turn at the metrics. It's doubtful anyone will consider the proposed tr...

Ann Reid Luggage Rack
Hi Bud, The only place you can find one is if a current owner will let go of one. Ann's friend made two or three batches of them and then decided he didn't want to do it any more - he was a retired machinist. However, all is NOT lo...

Ann Reid Luggage Rack
Hello Folks: I'm very interested in tracking down an Ann Reid Luggage Rack for my '90 PC. Anyone know of a source? Thanks in advance for your time. Regards, Bud Reed

New Reid Rack -- Discussion and Progress
Leland, You are correct, the Givi rack is probably made of cast aluminum. I have never handled the parts, only seen them on the bikes. Based on the design with heavy members and shapes, it indicated they were cast or injection moulded ...

Re: PC800: New Reid Rack -- Discussion and Progress
I have the Honda Backrest and the top spoiler. If the Givi rack and brackets fitted over the spoiler, I'd have put one on long ago. If the proposed plans finalize themselves with a similar fitting that allows for both the spoiler and the ...

Re: PC800: New Reid Rack -- Discussion and Progress
It does work with the backrest, and the combo looks great. Why would you bother designing another? And it's hell for stout. You can pick the bike back up when it falls over with it. Ask me how I know. My GIVI rack was about $65. With t...

New Reid Rack -- Discussion and Progress
David, The Givi rack covers up the lines of the bike and will not work with the upper trunk spoiler. The bars are quite thick because of the material they are made of. The Honda backrest breckets are not heavy enough to carry the rack ...

New Reid Rack -- Discussion and Progress
Let me weigh in on this one since I'm the one that's attempting to make the rack with Leland. I guess my ability to produce highway peg brackets is now going to put me into the custom part manufacturing business -- something I will enjoy!...

New Reid luggage rack, maybe? or?
I have a Honda backrest, and am not sure I like the way it's brackets work. Doubt I'd like to add the additional weight of a rack holding a bag or other cargo to the existing brackets. That is why my vote would be for option number 3. ...

Leland, I think a stand alone rack with a provision to use either a Honda or Utopia backrest or no backrest. Also make sure it will work with rear upper spoiler fin. The reason I say this is not all people have the Honda backrest and t...
